Random Ramsdom 8/29: McVay optimistic about Donald signing extension with LA Rams – Turf Show Times

Sean McVay optimistic about Donald deal getting done soon I ESPN

Rather than providing the usual coach speak and canned responses, on Tuesday head coach Sean McVay appeared to be brimming with optimism about being reunited with his star defensive linemen sooner than rather than later. Not sure what Kevin Demoff and Tony Pastoors told McVay, but maybe the deal actually gets done soon.

Gerald Everett returns to practice and should be ready for Week 1 I Rams Official Site

Tight end Gerald Everett returned to practice and is slated to appear in the Rams opener on Sept. 10 against Oakland. Apparently, the injury wasn’t caused by any one play, but was a pre-existing injury from college. Hopefully, a few weeks of rest can do what an entire offseason couldn’t do for Gerald’s injury.

Incarcerated cornerback Darryl Henley weighs in on prison reform I Fox News

If you’re a Rams fan who goes back to the Anaheim era, you are probably familiar with the name Darryl Henley. Henley was a solid cornerback for the Rams in the early 90s and was one of the better players that the Rams selected with their picks gained in the Eric Dickerson trade. His NFL career ended tragically, when Henley was convicted of trafficking cocaine and sentenced to 20 years in prison, later receiving 21 more years for solicitation of murder. Darryl has been sitting in prison for the last 23 years, but recently reappeared on the radar by penning an opinion column regarding prison reform that appeared on the Fox News website. I never thought I’d end up linking up a Fox News article in our Ramsdom, but this is probably worth a read.

Observations from the Rams Vs Texans game I Rams Talk

Derek Ciapala provides his four takeaways from the Rams’ third preseason game against the Houston Texans. The game was probably the most enjoyable of the preseason games to discuss; certainly more than the final preseason contest against the Saints will be, since all the starters and many backups will be on ice as they await Week 1 of the regular season.

Pro Football Focus previews the Rams final preseason tune-up I Pro Football Focus

Pro Football Focus previews the Rams’ final preseason contest against the New Orleans Saints with some Micah Kiser talk. Apparently Kiser has the 5th highest PFF grade among rookie linebackers during the preseason.
