REPORT: LA Rams are unlikely to re-sign LG Rodger Saffold – Turf Show Times

As we approach the kickoff of the free agency period, the rumors continue to swirl. This time around, a report has surfaced that the Los Angeles Rams are unlikely to re-sign LG Rodger Saffold and he’s likely to hit the free agent market with plenty of suitors:

This would be a bad situation for the Rams. They’re obviously currently limited in cap space with only $25m available and have multiple starters slated to hit the market in two weeks. Losing Saffold — who’s been a career Ram and is now 30-years old — would prove to be a major issue along the offensive line because of the age of LT Andrew Whitworth (one year left on contract) and the uncertainty/age surrounding C John Sullivan (also one year left on contract).

If the Rams do lose Saffold in free agency, they’ll be entitled to a compensatory draft pick which will be determined by his price tag, games played, and accolades collected during the season.

Let the rumors swirl.
