Teen battling cancer meets his favorite LA Rams' player – KEYT

OXNARD, Calif. – A teen battling cancer received a gift from his favorite NFL team last month. The Los Angeles Rams surprised Gilbert Cabrera with tickets to Ram's game as well as meeting-and-greet with his favorite player, Todd Gurley.

Seventeen-year-old Cabrera watched in complete awe as his favorite team, the Los Angeles Rams, warmed up on the field before facing off against the Green Bay Packers.

“I don’t know what to think about it,” said Cabrera. “I don’t know. It is just crazy. I don’t have any words right now.”

The senior at Dos Pueblos high school has been battling gastrointestinal disorder since he was a kid. Earlier this month Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties invited Cabrera and his family to a benefit dinner with the Rams and gave him a surprise he would never forget.

“Gilbert, we heard a little rumor that you have a wish, and we want to make that wish come true,” said Andre Whitworth, offensive tackle for the Rams. “On October 28 we play the Greenbay Packers, and you are coming to see us play, and you will have pregame sideline passes, and you are going to meet Todd Girly.”

Sunday was that moment that Cabrera would come face to face with his favorite player, Todd Gurley.

After meeting and taking pictures with the Rams star running back, the Rams organization took Cabrera inside the locker room.

“It was cool,” said Cabrera. “I got to experience how the players dressed and everything. I saw players in there too, and they gave me a handshake. It was pretty cool.”

The day got even sweeter as Cabrera spent the rest of this time on the sidelines as the Rams water boy.
