July 30
Practice begins at 3:00pm PT
Autographs: Defensive line
Week 1 of 2018 Los Angeles Rams training camp is in the books. Week 2 starts today with the fifth practice in five days before taking a break tomorrow.
It’s worth taking stock of how little time there is to install things now. A week from today, the Rams will be in Baltimore for the first of two joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of next Thursday’s preseason opener.
So yeah. Time to ramp it up.
Injuries
Here was the official list from yesterday:
Physically Unable To Perform (PUP) List – Active
Did Not Report (DNR) List – Reserve
So yes, OL Jeremiah Kolone came off the Non-Football Injury list. But the concern yesterday was C John Sullivan who had to come off with some kind of arm injury. Head Coach Sean McVay sounded like it wasn’t serious, so we’ll have to see if Sully’s a go today.
Offense
WR Cooper Kupp and WR Brandin Cooks have stood out to this point. Now that the pads are on, perhaps we’ll see more out of the O-line rotations worth noting.
Defense
With Donald absent, there’s a ton of opportunity in that front seven right now. We know the secondary spots are locked up. If CB Nickell Robey-Coleman sees more time this year, that still leaves six spots up front. If three are to be manned by DL Michael Brockers, DL Ndamukong Suh and ILB Mark Barron, that leaves three open for competition. It should make for VERY interesting viewing early on in that preseason opener to see who gets those early snaps with the first string and how they perform.
