The start of free agency is just a week away, while teams are able to legally negotiate contracts beginning on March 12. The Los Angeles Rams have begun clearing cap space by trading Robert Quinn and likely moving on from Tavon Austin, but that won’t be the end of their transactions.

With so many of their own players hitting free agency, the Rams will have to do some work to keep the majority of them in Los Angeles. Or, they can simply look elsewhere to replace guys like Quinn and Connor Barwin.

Here are five affordable outside linebackers the Rams should consider signing in free agency.

Lynch is one of the youngest defensive players available in free agency, turning 25 on March 8. That counts for something, given how much room he still has to grow. Injuries have limited him the past few years as he’s recorded just 2.5 sacks in that span, but if he can stay healthy, he has a chance to become a well-rounded edge rusher.

He certainly has the size (6-foot-6, 270 pounds) to be just that, though his ability to get after the quarterback could use some work. Still, as a low-risk, high-reward free agent, the Rams would be wise to give him a call.
