Brandin Cooks trade to LA Rams excites former Oregon State Beavers – OregonLive.com

When Brandin Cooks was traded to the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday, no one was more excited that Rams punter Johnny Hekker

Hekker posted a tweet welcoming Cooks to the Rams on Wednesday.

Cooks will be the third former Oregon State Beavers player on the Rams roster. Hekker and backup quarterback Sean Mannion are also former Beavers.

Cooks and Mannion played together for three seasons at Oregon State and the two posted career-best seasons in 2013.

Cooks caught 128 passes for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2013, posting all-time, single-season records in program history. Mannion passed for 4,662 yards and 37 touchdowns, with each statistic the all-time single-season best marks at the school.

Hekker finished his career at Oregon State in 2011, the first year Mannion and Cooks were in Corvallis.
