With the unfortunate news of Temarrick Hemingway breaking his fibula, the Los Angeles Rams knew they had to address a need at the TE position, and here it is:
Washington traded TE Derek Carrier to LA Rams, per source. Carrier reunited with Sean McVay.

The Rams have made a trade for now former Washington Redskins TE Derek Carrier. Carrier has been with the Redskins for two years, and has been coached under Coach McVay, previously the Redskins offensive coordinator. Current Rams TE coach Shane Waldron, also former Redskins coach (offensive quality control) may have had a good idea of what Carrier offers.
Carrier was originally an UDFA in 2012, and has played for the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and most recently, the Washington Redskins. Carrier has amassed 28 receptions, 256 yards, and one receiving touchdown in his NFL career. He’s only 27.
Carrier could potentially offer the Rams a better blocking TE presence with the first two options (Higbee and Everett) as more move/receiving threats. The addition of Carrier could potentially spell the end of the Cory Harkey’s career as a Ram.
