LA Rams at Denver Broncos: Highlight/Lowlight – Turf Show Times – Turf Show Times

Now that the game has come and gone – and the Los Angeles Rams remain undefeated at 6-0 – we can take a look at the best and worst plays of the day.

Let’s jump into it:

Lowlight

There were larger and potentially even worse plays in this game, but I don’t understand what CB Troy Hill is trying to accomplish here. He is in coverage on WR Emmanuel Sanders up the seam running a clear-out route for Demaryius Thomas on the quick slant. The issue becomes that he peeled off the seam route and jumped the slant but none of his teammates knew he was going to do that and it left Sanders wide open for an easy 20-yard touchdown. They (and particularly Hill) shouldn’t be having these types of breakdowns in week six.

This was a huge run because it came on a 4th-and-1 attempt. The Rams ran a split zone run with TE Tyler Higbee pulling across the formation and blocking the backside DE in Bradley Chubb. The Rams’ offensive line move in unison with a lateral step first before attacking their defenders opening up a nice gap between LT Andrew Whitworth and LG Rodger Saffold for Todd Gurley to accelerate through. All Gurley really needs to do is read another tremendous block off the left side by WR Robert Woods. He reads it properly and it ends in a nearly untouched touchdown.
