Greg Zuerlein’s 57-yard field goal in overtime lifted the Los Angeles Rams to a 26-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Sunday’s NFC Championship game in New Orleans.
Zuerlein sent the game to overtime on a Zuerlein 48-yard field goal with :15 left in the fourth quarter.
The Saints had taken a 23-20 lead with 1:45 left in the game on a 34-yard field goal from Wil Lutz.
The Rams tied the score at 20 on a 24-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein.
Tight end Tyler Higbee’s 1-yard touchdown reception from Jared Goff pulled the Rams within three points of the Saints at 20-17.
Taysom Hill’s touchdown reception from quarterback Drew Brees put the Saints up 20-10 midway through the third quarter.
The New Orleans Saints jumped out to a 13-0 lead on the Rams, but the Rams shifted momentum late in the second quarter with a successful fake punt that later resulted in a field goal and scored 10 unanswered points, including a Todd Gurley touchdown just before halftime.
