Michael Brockers stands by belief that Tom Brady shows signs of aging – Rams Wire

Tom Brady and his repeatedly stellar play have seemed to defy the odds when it comes to age and the quarterback position. Now 41 going on 42, Brady is still playing at a high level and winning Super Bowls – most recently in February against the Rams.

Everyone’s waiting for Father Time to catch up to him, but it might be years before we see that happen. Michael Brockers said on Super Bowl media night that it’s going to reach Brady at some point, which was taken as a shot at the quarterback’s age.

“Like I said before, you’re 42 years old in the National Football League. You’re not going to always play like you did when you were 23 or so. Father Time, it’s going to catch you at some point in time,” he said.

Brockers didn’t mean it maliciously, only speaking the truth about the toll a long career takes on a player. Three months later, Brockers doesn’t regret his comments.

“No, I mean it’s facts. Everybody ages, everybody slows down a little bit. It didn’t happen in the game – his mind is still there – but everybody shows a little sign of Father Time creeping up on him, for sure,” Brockers said on FS1’s “Fair Game.”

Brockers was asked if Brady is still showing signs of aging. He didn’t hesitate to respond.

“For sure, Yes. Definitely,” he said laughing. “We all – I mean it’s going to creep up on me at some point in time, too, so I can’t hate against him.”
