The Los Angeles Rams have built a strong relationship with the city of Thousand Oaks, especially after this past season. Following the mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in November, as well as the wildfires in Southern California, the team rallied together to help those in need.
Since moving back to L.A., the Rams have called Thousand Oaks home. Their headquarters are in the city, with Cal Lutheran University as the site of training camp and practices. The team has executed its option for 2019 to remain in Thousand Oaks, but the city wants to keep the Rams there for the foreseeable future.
“I would agree that the L.A. Rams (should) remain the No. 1 priority for the city of Thousand Oaks,” council member Claudia Bill-de la Peña said, via the Ventura County Star. “Everything else, for me, is priority No. 2.”
The Rams bring value to Thousand Oaks, and the city is thrilled to have the team’s headquarters there. It’s unclear whether the team would want to move closer to the new stadium in Inglewood, scheduled to open next summer, or remain in Thousand Oaks, but the city’s goal is obvious.
“I don’t think they are necessarily prioritized,” council member Al Adam said. “Except I would state that the Rams are the No. 1 priority.”
