Ndamukong Suh racked up more than $400,000 in fines and suspensions during his five-year Detroit Lions career, so it’s only fitting the Pro Bowl defensive tackle was fined for his play last week in his first game against his old team.
Suh, who had six tackles and two quarterback hits in the Los Angeles Rams’ 30-16 win over the Lions last week, was fined $20,054 for his horse-collar tackle on running back Zach Zenner.
That penalty was one of two personal fouls for Suh in the game. He was not fined for a fourth-quarter hit on Matthew Stafford that drew a roughing-the-passer flag.

Suh played the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Lions, where he earned a reputation as one of the league’s roughest players.
He was fined eight times (for $216,875) and suspended twice (for $187,294 in lost wages) while with the Lions, though some of those fines and one of the suspensions were overturned on appeal.
Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah also was fined $20,054 for a late hit on Rams QB Jared Goff on Sunday, and Rams defensive end Dante Fowler was fined $26,739 for unnecessary roughness.
Fowler was not penalized for a helmet-to-helmet hit on a shovel pass to Lions receiver Bruce Ellington in the first half.
