LA Rams' Aaron Neary Arrested on Suspicion of DUI – NBC 7 San Diego

Los Angeles Rams center Aaron Neary was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol on Sunday evening after callers reported a driver who crashed into signs and other objects, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

Neary’s blood-alcohol content level was 0.17 percent, more than double the legal limit of 0.08 percent, according to the SVPD. The police said that callers reported Neary’s vehicle driving “erratically” and that the player had rammed into “several fixed objects, including a bus stop sign, mailboxes and a trash cans.”

The vehicle did not stop and officers conducted a traffic stop on El Monte Drive, near El Lado Drive, authorities said.

Earlier in the day, the Rams shut out the Arizona Cardinals in a runaway 34-0 victory in the team’s home opener. The 6-foot-4-inch, 301-pound Neary, a member of the team’s practice squad, did not play in the game.

Neary, 25, was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, East County Jail and faced charges of DUI, DUI with Blood Alcohol Level over .08 percent and Hit-and-Run, property damage.

Rams officials were not available for comment.

It was not immediately known if Neary had a lawyer.
