LA Rams sign RB C.J. Anderson – Turf Show Times

With RB’s Todd Gurley and Justin Davis sustaining injuries on Sunday Night Football, the Los Angeles Rams bolstered their running back room by signing free agent C.J. Anderson:

Anderson is a 27-year old free agent who spent time with both the Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders in 2018. Anderson didn’t get many opportunities this season, though he still had some production with 24 carries for 103 yards (4.3 yards-per-carry).

Anderson has had a productive career as a former undrafted free agent and pro bowler (2014). Another interesting factor Anderson brings is a Superbowl ring. Over his six-year career, Anderson has accumulated 717 carries, 3,155 yards, 20 touchdowns, 104 receptions, 883 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns.

The reason a guy like Anderson can be intriguing is because he was the most productive in his career operating in a zone-blocking scheme, which is what the Rams run. Not only that, but at 5’8” and 225 lbs, Anderson offers a similar big body like Malcolm Brown who was recently placed on injured reserve.
