In a shocking move, the Los Angeles Rams have waived WR and KR Pharoh Cooper:
Since returning from injured reserve (ankle injury), Cooper has been an absolute non-factor for the Rams both as a receiver and a returner. As a kick returner, Cooper has averaged 21.3 yards per return, a number that incumbent KR Blake Countess topped with his average of 24.6 yards.
Not only that, but PR JoJo Natson’s play ensured that Cooper wouldn’t have a chance to return any punts, leaving him as a one-trick pony who really wasn’t performing up to standards.
The release of Cooper comes at an interesting time because the Rams are clearly shook and are looking to make a move to spark the team. Cooper’s release will open a roster spot, though it’s not known who the spot will be filled by.
Best of luck to Pharoh Cooper wherever he lands, he’ll be subject to the NFL waiver wire.
