There are no proper words in the English vocabulary to adequately describe the magnificent game that took place this past Monday Night as the Los Angeles Rams dueled blow-for-blow against and the Kansas City Chiefs ultimately rising victorious at the last sound of the bell, 54-51.
Shit, the offense did what the offense has done all year long: go for the jugular. Defensively, the unit arose to the occasion; matching Kansas City with big plays of their own.
So without further delay, the rookie grades for Week 11:
Report Card
WR JoJo Natson
JoJo remains in place as the punt return specialist despite the return of WR/return specialist Pharoh Cooper. He was in on three ST plays and only returned one punt. Unfortunately for Natson, it netted a return of negative three yards.
Grade: D
DE/OLB John Franklin-Myers
Franklin-Meyers saw his lowest snap total since Week 9, being in on 12 defensive plays. The EDGE/END hybrid player made his opportunities count, however. He scooped up the fumble caused by Aaron Donald, which eventually led to a touchdown.
Grade: B
ILB Micah Kiser
Kiser has established himself as a special teams ace of sorts, registering 26 special teams snaps.
The question now moving forward, and crossing the proverbial midpoint with the upcoming Bye Week, is if Kiser can crack the defensive rotation. Micah’s strength coming into the league was run defense. The Rams are deplorable against the run, Kiser can make a positive impact if ready.
Grade: C+
OT Joseph Noteboom
In a night in which the Chiefs’ defensive line played a dominant game, it was for the best Joe did not enter the game.
Noteboom was in for nine ST snaps, however.
Grade: C+
EDGE Justin Lawler
The SMU-product is earning his chops on special teams — Lawler was on the field for 23 ST snaps.
Grade: C+
WR KhaDarel Hodge
Movement (injuries) in the WR group room afforded Hodge some additional snaps. The undrafted rookie was in fore nine offensive snaps resulting in a catch for three yards. Throw in the 23 more snaps on ST
Grade: C+
C Brian Allen
Center Brian was ready to roll if need be. He was, as we know, not needed on offense. He did log in nine ST snaps.
Grade: C+
EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
The OLB/EDGE room is changing as weeks continue to pass. Week 11 saw the first time this season veteran Matt Longacre was on the pre-game inactives list. Okoronkwo was inactive, as well, but tides are still a changin’!
Will this result in Obo seeing the field? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Grade: N/A Incomplete
RB John Kelly
John continues to rep the street clothes squad week in & week out.
Grade: N/A Incomplete
DL Sebastian Joseph-Day
Like Kelly, Joseph-Day found himself on the inactives list.
Grade: N/A Incomplete
