Los Angeles Rams Week 1 2017 Broadcast Map – Turf Show Times

Per 506 Sports, here’s the CBS broadcast map for Week 1:

Non-pictured market coverage: Anchorage, AK – Raiders at Titans; Fairbanks, AK – Raiders at Titans; Honolulu, HI – Raiders at Titans

Tons of coverage from the LA market out as the Rams carry most of SoCal (though none of the mid-three markets of San Bernadino, Fresno and Bakersfield), most of Arizona, all of Utah, with parts of Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming.

Consider that last year, the Rams opened the season on a national broadcast; the next week, NFL football returned to LA as the Rams hosted the Seahawks. Here was the map:

So for the Rams to carry that much on their own on CBS is the kind of market the franchise certainly wants to see.

The Colts add in most of Indiana.

The game also benefits from the cross-network bounce. With the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles all playing on FOX, we’ll pick up those markets as well. The only team playing on FOX on Sunday whose home market won’t carry Rams-Colts on CBS is the Washington Football Consortium. Rams-Colts will also carry the Miami and Tampa Bay markets as the contest between the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been cancelled.

So while area-wise the coverage map may not blanket much of the country, it’s hitting some huge population centers ensuring that much of the NFL-watching country will see Jared Goff starting off Year 2 against a crippled Colts team.

For better or worse.
