For the second time this month, Michael Roberts‘ journey to the 2019 season has suffered a major setback.
Less than a week after being waived by the Detroit Lions following a voided trade with the New England Patriots, the tight end was released Wednesday by the Green Bay Packers after failing a physical.
Thanks to a shoulder injury he sustained last December, Roberts has seen his career take several twists and turns as he continues to rehab. The trade between the Lions and Pats fizzled out due to Roberts failing a physical and now his shoulder is once again playing a role in this latest development.
Roberts, 25, is a 2017 fourth-round draft pick with career totals of 13 receptions, 146 yards and three touchdowns in 23 games played with the Lions.
