Rams GM Les Snead: LG Rodger Saffold is “too expensive for us” – Turf Show Times

The then-St. Louis Rams drafted Rodger Saffold III out of Indiana in the 2010 NFL Draft. Nine seasons later, Saffold is set to depart the LA Rams as an unrestricted free agent in free agency this week.

While the writing has seemingly been on the wall for some time, Rams General Manager Les Snead pretty much confirmed Saffold’s departure today in a media scrum following the press conference to introduce S Eric Weddle by suggesting that Saffold would be “too expensive” for the Rams:

In terms of the sincerity of the idea of being too expensive, that’s nonsensical, but Snead has a way with words. He’s long been unable to hew toward common syntax that most English-speakers would recognize.

Still, this was blunt enough to be taken at face value and for fans to accept as much.

Rodger Saffold will no longer be a Ram as of next season.

Thanks for the memories, Saff.
