We’ve reached the final weeks before the NFL Draft, where team personnel and inside sources begin to send out smokescreens to others perhaps in an effort to shield opposing teams from selecting their preferred prospect.
And it looks like Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins is beginning to feel the brunt of this as a player believed to be sliding from his designated spot near the top of the first round.
NBC Sports longtime NFL analyst Peter King wrote Monday that he “keeps hearing Dwayne Haskins is sinking, and may be the fourth passer picked in this draft.” This is a far cry from Haskins’ perceived draft stock following a standout performance at the NFL Combine earlier this year in Indianapolis following by his impressive Pro Day in Columbus last month.
Some are labeling positive grades on Haskins early as media conjecture and saying NFL front offices never viewed him in the same light.
