After a last-ditch effort in shopping EDGE Bruce Irvin, the Oakland Raiders have decided to release the veteran pass rusher:
Breaking: #Raiders have cut defensive end Bruce Irvin, league sources said. Story to come

Per Adam Schefter, the Raiders did not get the paperwork filed today prior to 4 p.m. EST so Irvin wont be available until tomorrow, but Vinny Bonsignore suggested there could be interest there on the Rams’ part if Irvin is willing to take less money:
FYI on #Rams Bruce Irvin. Safe to say there would be interest, but with Rams current salary cap it would have to be on a minimum salary basis.

Irvin has rightfully struggled this season only registering six total tackles and three sacks on the year. Irvin was originally a first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. In his seven years in the league, Irvin has collected 40 sacks, 11 pass deflections, three interceptions, two touchdowns, and 15 forced fumbles.
Irvin was essentially benched in the past game on Monday Night Football versus the San Francisco 49ers:
Bruce Irvin only played nine snaps. Asked why, Gruden essentially said he is an edge rusher who can only play with a lead. Interesting choice for $8 million salary and a team captain, if true.

So that begs the question, should the Rams be interested in adding another pass rusher to the group after trading for Dante Fowler Jr?
