Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders once said: “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. And if you play good, they pay good.”
Now while Los Angeles Rams’ defensive tackle Aaron Donald might think that last bit is a steaming pile of horse excrement, there’s at least some truth to the first part of Deion’s sentiments.
Despite Donald’s elite level of play, it looks as though he and his teammates purchased their uniforms at the toilet store. As it stands they’ve got some atrocious mix of colors spanning four decades — and there’s not a soul on Earth that’s begging for more gold. But Rams’ COO Kevin Demoff is doing his part to ensure that you, the fans, are being heard at the league office.
We have spent the year educating them on our fan base. We forwarded them all of the fan complaints, the emails we get, so I think they’re well aware of our fans’ preferences.
Sadly, whoever is fielding his calls is likely a Seahawks or a 49ers’ fan, and is relegating them to a measly two games a season in the throwback blue and yellow uniforms the team, and fan base, yearn for.
Demoff says the team plans to continue fighting the good fight during the offseason, in an effort to get the team looking hotter burning turf in the Edward Jones Dome.
Hopefully, they recognize the challenge we have and appreciate the connection the fan base has to the blue and yellow. If we can avoid wearing our Navy jerseys next year, we will.
Let’s hope to hear more rumblings of some traction on the throwback uniform front as the offseason progresses. It would certainly be nice to see the Rams’ – a team many expect to make a deep run into the playoffs in 2018 – looking the part this season.
Oh, and pay Aaron Donald already.
