It’s been a hell of a couple of years for the Los Angeles Rams. After arriving in LA, the Rams made a huge trade for the #1 pick, were featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks and Amazon’s All or Nothing, became a laughingstock in the NFL, then fired their longtime coach in Jeff Fisher, hired a 30 year-old coach with no head coaching experience and boom — now on the verge of their third season in Los Angeles, the Rams are a trendy team to cheer for and also happen to be Super Bowl favorites.
What makes the Rams favored over teams like the Minnesota Vikings and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles? Well, sports betting has a lot of mystery to it, but if I had to guess from the outside, I’d say that the Rams are relatively healthy, with a newly stocked defense that could very well challenge the Vikings for the most dangerous D in the league. And since we’re talking about the Vikings, are we sure Kirk Cousins can win up north?
And with the Eagles, it makes sense that they’re 10/1 favorites compared to LA’s 17/2 odds. It’s rather difficult to win back-to-back Super Bowls, especially with 41-year-old Tom Brady, still slinging and cheating his way to the big game. And the Eagles still have to prove that their QB situation is healthy and resolved.
But the most important thing to remember is that no one knows anything. Another trendy pick, at 60/1 right now, are the Cleveland Browns. This is going to be a very very very interesting year in the NFL if that happens.
So, the LA Rams have targets on their backs this season — act accordingly.
