This week Joe (@3k_) and I (@MightyOrMisone) are joined by KTTV Fox 11’s Liz Habib (@LizHabib).
We discussed the Los Angeles Rams’ first 4-2 start since 2006 and how they have surpassed expectations thus far. We also discussed that even with those expectations being surpassed that it will likely take a playoff appearance and maybe a playoff win to get the city of LA to buy into this team and start showing up at the stadium. Liz also discussed expectations moving forward and what the biggest difference is between this year and last year in terms of morale and attitude for players like RB Todd Gurley and QB Jared Goff.
From there we had a swirling discussion on HC Sean McVay. We discussed what initial thoughts existed when he first got the job compared to now, and how much better the Rams can be. Liz points out just how kuch the team has bought into his philosophies and we then discuss how much further WR Sammy Watkins has to go in that area.
Later, Joe and I preview what to watch for in the game against the Arizona Cardinals as the Rams head to London in Week 7.
We also reviewed MLB Alec Ogletree‘s new deal and discuss if it was the right move. Ogletree currently is ranked as the 80th best linebacker in football this year according to Pro Football Focus — also the lowest graded starter for the Rams — and he’s now in a similar contract bracket as Carolina Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly, the highest paid at his position.
Give it a listen and give me a shout out at TSR_fantalk@yahoo.com if you want to be a listener guest on the show during the bye as I pick another two folks to hop on with us.
Thanks again to Liz for coming on!
