VINELAND – Jamil Demby, the pride of Vineland Midget Football League and an offensive lineman in the National Football League, was in the winner’s circle Tuesday night at City Hall.
Mayor Anthony Fanucci introduced Demby at the City Council meeting and said a city proclamation is being drafted to present to him this week for how well he has represented his hometown.
On Sunday, Demby was the guest speaker at the annual VMFL banquet.

“First off, I would just like to thank you and the City Council so much for this wonderful honor,” Demby said. “As for me, and I think the reason why I stand here today, is because not just the pursuit of the sport of football but to create a bigger foundation for not only the people of Vineland but our young children for someone to look up to and motivation.”
